With Beer Porn Magazine recently leaving sunny California and relocating to the lone star state we have took to the road the past six months visiting breweries. We still have a few to check out but the ones we have visited were most check outs. For us these few key ingredients make a brewery a most check out spot. Location, decor, atmosphere, staff, and last but not least the beer. Here are the top 5 must check out breweries in Texas to check out when visiting the lone star state.
5. MEANWHILE BREWING CO. – AUSTIN TEXAS
When you pull up to Meanwhile the outside is amazing, a path leads you to the entrance, along the way there is outside seating, and if you continue walking it will take you to the outdoor family area filled with chairs, tables, an event area for bands, and just an amazing view. Inside the decor is old fashioned yet so modern. The beer fits the brewery. Want more than beer? They serve food, coffee, and cocktails too. Definitely worth stopping in for a beer with friends or for a date.
4. EQUAL PARTS BREWING CO. – HOUSTON TEXAS
Located in a super industrial neighborhood Equal Parts has some outside seating and lovely inside. Decor is very rustic, agricultural, and concrete feel. Behind the bar are windows showing you the inside of the brewery. Amazing selection of to go beer and thee amount of beer on draft is amazing. The beer selection has to be one of the best varieties we had the pleasure of drinking.
3. INGENIOUS BREWING CO. – HUMBLE TEXAS
Ingenious is located in the outer area of Houston in a town called Humble in a woodland area. You pull into a industrial business area and think wait where am I. None the less Ingenius has a decent size inside and great outdoor area with a food truck. The inside is full of beer art, nice lights, old video game machine, and some tasty ass beer.
2. URBAN SOUTH BREWING CO. – HOUSTON TEXAS
Urban South is known for amazing beer especially their fruited slushy beers. The brewery is huge, amazing outdoors area for families, video games for kids, bright, fun, tons of seating inside, 3 door can cooler, and tons of beer on tap. This place is an experience.
1. CELESTIAL BEERWORKS
Located in a small neighborhood near the light rail is a small brewery called Celestial Beer Works. This bright fun artwork pastel brewery has amazing decor, music, fun knowledgable staff, outdoor seating, and some of the best beer brewed in the state of Texas from IPA’s to Sours. This place is a must check out spot. Trust us, we’ll buy you a beer if is not. Here is our trip to Celestial.
