Saying what city in Texas has the best craft beer selection is like saying what city has the best barbecue. Is it the DFW area? Maybe it’s Austin or maybe Houston. After a year of traveling the lone star state and hitting city after city and drinking beers from breweries from all over the state, we must say we can say what city we truly enjoyed drinking beer in.

So what city? Is it the city of Austin? No, as much as we love Austin and the amount of breweries we stopped into it came in second for us. Austin is filled with some of the best breweries the lone star state has like Hold Out, Jester King, Live Oak, Meanwhile, Pint House, St. Elmo, and etc. From decor to food all the way to landscape and locations Austin is amazing. But if Austin isn’t the best beer city who is it? Maybe the Fort Wort/Dallas Area. Maybe San Antonio.

If you realized the fact we haven’t mentioned Houston is probably a hint that yes, Houston is our favorite city to drink beer in. Houston is Filled with some of the best breweries in our opinion. Although each city we have drunk in is amazing and Dallas has Celestial Beer works which our favorite Texas brewery we still would pick Houston.

The city of Houston is big and its small surrounding cities have dope breweries too. Breweries like Equal Parts have some of the most consistent beers and their selection and variety is huge. Even the commercialized big breweries like Saint Arnold and Karbach are the most while known through out the retail markets. Wether you want IPA’s, Lagers, Sours, Stouts, or Slushy beers Houston has it. Here are breweries we think you would enjoy.

Equal Parts Brewing Co.
Wide selection, consistent quality, to go bottles/cans, lots of seating inside and out, relaxing, and their slow pour pils is perfection.
