Today two heavy hitters in the beer game released their collaboration beer Cowboy Cologne. That’s right Californias very own Highland Park and Texas very own Pinthouse.
Highland Park and Pinthouse have teamed up to brew Cowboy Cologne, a fun Western Pils that utilizes California Sagebrush. The inspiration for Cowboy Cologne came from Pinthouse’s Director of Sales, Grant, whose favorite HPB beer is Pinnation Pils. Together they wanted to recreate that beer with locally sourced CA sagebrush while also making it slightly hoppy, like a West Coast Pils.
Cowboy Cologne is our Western Pils that uses locally sourced CA Sagebrush & a light hopping of Citra & Comet hops. We used half the hopping rate we would for a normal West Coast Pilsner so that the CA Sagebrush could really shine through. The result of that combo is a fun, crisp pilsner with floral notes & sage.
