When you think of Savannah Georgia I’m sure history lessons of it being a strategic port city in the American Revolution and during the American Civil War. Savannah today is not just the industrial center and an important Atlantic seaport. it’s also home to Two Tides Brewing Co.
Savannah attracts millions of visitors each year to its cobblestone streets, parks, and notable historic buildings. But beer is also another reason people are flocking to the peach state and the people at Two Tides are there to serve the fine folks craving their beers.
So if you see your self stumbling down west 41st Street you come up upon a two story victorian style house and store front looking building you my friend have found yourself at this beer gem. They have been brewing for 7 years opening back in 2018 by James and Liz Massey and their staff of around 40 people. Their building was built around 1910 and originally the manager’s residence for the adjacent Starland Dairy. In the 1960s, however, the second story (now their taproom) was propped up on stilts while the first level was demolished and re-built into a commercial space where the dairy made juice and other beverages. The dairy even supplied milk to neighboring residents through the 1980s. Still a fixture in the neighborhood, it currently sits empty and abandoned.
Open 7 days a week you can find yourself trying a different array of beers on tap from hazy ipa’s, sours, dark and light they have what you need with at least 16 beers on tap and 5 single can and bottle pours. And be for leaving be sure to grab some to go cans. And if you find yourself there on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday they have beer slashes to indulge in. But what if you want more than beer? While guess what you can get some coffee from Float or a cocktail from Smol both located in the same building. But the fun doesn’t stop because if you’re hungry Two Tides has you covered with their food truck Crispi.
