Te holidays are here, if you’re reading this it’s Christmas Eve today, but if you’re reading this after Christmas and still want to enjoy some Christmas themed beers then start trading for some or be lucky to live near these breweries.
Christmas calls for stouts, winter ales, and typical strong ales from barleywine to barrel aged stouts but they may not always be the case. For some, pastry sours and IPA’s are a thing of choice.
For us we enjoy a strong barleywine near a nice fire… how the hell are we kidding we will drink it all just put it in a Born Porn glass and we will slam it like a college frat party, ah the good old days. But if you want to try something new here are 5 holiday beers we recommend in no particular order.
5. Churro Horchata Nog – Celestial Beerworks (Dallas, TX)

Enjoy egg nog and horchata? Hell we do. Then this pastry sour is the one for you. Celestial takes cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla beans and coconut cream to give you a thick and rich pastry sour that has the cheerful notes of Christmas and sweet Mexican drink we all love while eating tacos and creates this perfection in a can.
4. Strawberry Sugar Cookie Nog – Celestial Beerworks (Dallas, TX)

Back with another banger from the folks out of Dallas Texas. So enjoy egg nog but not horchata so you passed on the horchata version of nog, while no worries, Strawberry Sugar Cookie Nog has the same egg nog inspired pastry sour feel and taste but instead of cinnamon and brown sugar they added strawberries and sugar cookies to the mix making even Santa Claus stay to drink instead of passing out gifts this year.
3. Slays Stout – Crown & Hops (Inglewood, CA)

Inglewood up to no good! Naw more like Santa after he drinks this baby from Crown and Hops. This 6% abv Stout is brewed with vanilla, maple and toasted pecans. Expect notes of coffee and cocoa with a mild smoke finish. Man a beer like this is always a must have just look at it.

This is a collaboration with Green Cheeks Brewing Co. both breweries and hands down must check out breweries in California so this was a no brainer. North Park quotes “Do you hear that?
