If you’re like me then Saisons/Farmhouse Ales are something you enjoy once in a blue moon and when you drink them you stop and think damn I do love this style, especially the creativity some brewers have when brewing them even the ones that are just simple and basic. But one thing for sure is Seko isn’t basic. This farmhouse al is brewed with toasted Yamada Nishiki Rice, Togarashi spice, ginger and Mirin. This Japanese influenced ale pours a pale amber body with a bubbly white head that eventually dissipates. The aromas bloom of spice, ginger and a touch of sweetness from the mirin. Upfront you get that typical farmhouse ale funk and grain with ginger fruit heat and lots of heat from the spice. Very bright, fruity heat, and soft dry finish the beer is playful, bold and fun. An excellent beer to pair with some Japanese dishes.
